Using the collaborative problem solving method, in this unit, students will learn about sustainable development.

This unit aims to encourage creative learning through collaboration as the students work in groups to suggest change in their school towards sustainable development. Specifically, they need to make a plan for the production, processing and marketing of organic products that can be cultivated in the school yard and present their plan to the school headmaster. Students will have to use their information literacy skills to find information for the task, work well together, share responsibility in making decisions, think creatively and critically and finally present their solution convincingly.

Students track and plan their learning as a team. They use a shared document to plan, monitor and share their learning with the whole team. This is done so that the students both foster independent learning, but also inform their team about their learning, so that the team can use each other’s knowledge to reach their targets.
